I usually match up coupons, with store sales, to get the best possible price out there.
The First Most popular Method of keeping your coupons organized is the Binder Method (which is the most time consuming method out there- I've done other methods but I always seem to come back to this one) - You take just a Basic Binder -which I ended up getting my for half the price since someone had stuck it in the wrong section during a clearance sale at Wal-Mart. I can't find a great picture but I usually go with a heavy duty one, but any one works.
Then after that I add in the baseball card holders, I don't use the long coupon holders like what some use, I just use baseball card holders again that I got at Wal-Mart. They were on sale for $2.97, I think maybe less than that. At my Wal-Mart during that time, they would get some in, and would sell out in a heartbeat, so the last time they had any,I did stock up on that.
Then comes to organizing your coupons: You can organize your coupon alphabetically, or you can organize your coupons by like: Produce, Meat, PB&J, and so on. This is where I got to organize my coupons (won't lie I did have to add in my own sections though, because they weren't on the list, and didn't fit very well in any of the sections provided. ) Here's the site: Binder Organizer
Second Method is the Accordion File Method: This where you take a file box, add your inserts: Make sure you date your inserts: It keeps your inserts organize, so that when a sale comes around and you need a certain coupons, all you have to do is cut only those coupons out. Keep your coupon Inserts whole (they will be organize from when you get them-each have there own section like: SS (Smart Source), RP (Red Plum), PG (Proctor and Gamble), and so on.
***Choose a Method that works best for you*** (there are probably other methods out there, but these are usually the two popular ones that I see)
Coupon Lingo:
SS = Smart Source Insert
RP = Red Plum Insert
P&G= Procter & Gamble Insert
GM = General Mills Insert
RR = Register Reward *this is for Walgreens*
BOGO= Buy One, Get One
WYB = When You Buy
$1/2 = $1.00 off two items
Couponing: When it comes to couponing you can save as much as you want: I try to save at least 50% or more, I'd rather shoot for the high range but sometimes that doesn't work out the way you want it to work out. Things happen, just keep trying....even if you didn't save 50% or more, even if its lesser than that -don't beat yourself up, because guess what- At least your saving something!
I'll try to get into the habit of posting the ads, with price match up sales, but if I'm lacking in the week, I do apologize it'll be either A) because I myself don't find anything worth wild this week, or B) Other situations has come up
Please note that I am a Full Time Worker at a job, Full Time mother of two children under the age of 3, and go to school part time, so my life gets a little crazy. But hey if I can coupon and have a stock pile, you can too. I'll take pics later on today, and post them to my blog of what my stockpile looks like. I can tell you it took maybe a year or more to get all of that stuff. It doesn't take long to add to your stock pile though when your start adding to it.
If I missed anything, let me know.
Thanks! :)
